What changes after 35?
Gradually, skin renews more slowly. It may hold less moisture, feel less bouncy, show fine lines more readily and lose some of its natural glow. Sun exposure, stress, sleep and hormonal changes all add to this. None of it happens overnight, and the good news is that consistent, intelligent care makes a real difference to how skin looks and feels.
The qualities that make skin look healthy
When I assess skin, I look beyond individual lines or spots. I look at:
- Hydration: how well the skin holds water.
- Resilience: how it copes with stress, weather and products.
- Barrier function: how well it protects itself.
- Texture: how smooth and refined it looks and feels.
- Luminosity: how evenly it reflects light.
Improve these, and skin looks healthier at any age.
Why one-off treatments are not enough
An intensive treatment before an event can look wonderful for a few days. But skin quality is built over time. That's why I prefer a long-term approach that combines professional treatments, consistent homecare and regular skin assessment as your skin changes.
Skin longevity and injectables
Many of my clients also have injectables. The two work beautifully together. While injectables address movement, structure or volume, skin longevity treatments focus on something different: the quality of the skin itself.
